German for Business Professionals I-IV Sequence
The German for Business Professionals I-IV training program enables you to build a solid foundation in German via a four-course sequence parallel to your graduate study program or employment in the business community.
German for Business Professionals I-IV provides structured language training to build intercultural communication competencies in German business contexts. Emphasis is placed on the four skills, speaking, listening, reading, and writing, in conjunction with effective intercultural communication strategies.
The aim of the German for Business Professionals I-IV training sequence is to help you develop the linguistic tools and know-how that enable you to integrate more effectively into the Austrian academic and business community and start building the communicative competencies necessary to enter a professional career path in a German-speaking region or use German at your (future) workplace.
German for Business Professionals II
This course module is the sequel to German for Business Professionals I and builds on the skills and functions acquired in the beginner level course. German for Business Professionals II provides continued communication training in German at the A1 level combined with intercultural communication strategies for business-related interactions.
Prerequisite

Course Content
- Four-skill communication training in German at the A1 level tailored toward business professionals
- Intercultural communication strategies for business-related interactions
Topics include exchanging information about occupations and work routines, presenting colleagues, creating a job profile, expressing abilities, needs, obligations, and preferences, asking for and giving directions, speaking about excursions, events, and travel experiences, making purchases and describing purchase options, giving instructions and making recommendations, speaking about health and well-being, and reporting an accident or injury.
The course builds upon and strengthens grammatical concepts introduced in German for Business Professionals I. In addition, the following aspects are introduced and practiced: using the present perfect tense, modal verbs, and the imperative; forming affirmative and negative sentences and questions using main and dependent clauses; using adjectives and personal pronouns in the accusative case; and making comparisons.
