International study trip as an online highlight

18.05.2021 | International
Students of the part-time bachelor degree program International Business Studies planned their international study trip virtually. Renowned international and domestic companies gave exciting insights into what goes on behind the scenes.

The schedule included an entire series of exciting, informative presentations and discussions with Sparkasse Kufstein, SPG Prints, voestalpine, Swiss Infosec AG, and two companies from the Pletzer Gruppe (APL and iDM). The content of the presentations reflected various content from the courses of the study program. The students were given an interesting, informative insight into the specific problems that the companies have and into how they deal with them strategically.

Exciting topics

Sparkasse Kufstein gave the students an insight into its own employer branding and the topic of recruiting in the banking industry. SPG Prints is a globally successful company in the printing sector with its roots in Langkampfen in the District of Kufstein. In its presentation, the firm addressed the topic of the challenges of sustainable, environmentally friendly production in printing shops. Next was a virtual trip to voestalpine headquartered in Linz. Voestalpine is a technology and industrial equipment group company, and its presentation addressed its corporate history and growth into an important player in the global steel industry.

For 50 years, APL Apparatebau has been one of the leading heat exchange manufacturers in Europe. The presenter from APL discussed the USPs of the company: single-source innovation in the region, an active contribution to the energy transition and CO2 reduction, as well as utilization of the best-qualified specialists. Then the virtual tour went to iDM, a company, that is one of the pioneers across Europe in the area of energy systems. The presenters gave the students an insight into the work processes that take place from the idea stage to in-house production. Then the students received a good impression of Swiss Infosec AG. This company is the leading, independent consulting and training company in Switzerland and is specialized in the areas of information security, data protection, and IT security.

Online escape room as the highlight

An online escape room was planned as a team-building action in friendly cooperation with the Austrian National Union of Students at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein. The students were able to solve exciting riddles for around one and one-half hours in small randomly generated groups.

The international study trip was well organized, was able to take place in spite of the existing challenges, and was a complete success for all participants. The students would like to take the opportunity to once again thank all of the participating company representatives for the incredibly exciting presentations and for their participation.
