WEB students developed CRM portal for higher education institution in the Netherlands

At the beginning of March 2020, the project team from the Web Business & Technology (WEB) study program received a commission to develop a customer relationship management (CRM) portal for the UAS Rotterdam.

The UAS Rotterdam is acquiring software projects from various companies, which are being developed by students from this Dutch university along with a team from another European university. The goal was to create a CRM system that would make it easier to manage these projects and would facilitate communication with partner universities and companies.

Schedule and conclusion of the project

The Dutch team was responsible for working up the list of requirements and for communication with the university. The team from the University of Applied Sciences in Kufstein was commissioned with development. The project coach was University of Applied Sciences Professor Dr. Johannes Lüthi who oversaw students Magdalena Atzl, Larissa Blachfelder, Adam Liscak, Julian Loferer, and Lukas Stuefer.

Suitable technologies were first researched to optimally implement the requirements. In the next step, the students sketched display models, known as mock-ups, for the website. Then the project team developed the individual modules of the webpage in two week-sections. The COVID-19 situation was also a challenge since it made personal meetings impossible. This challenge was able to be overcome by regular virtual meetings and the dedication of the entire team.

The end presentation of the project took place on July 14, 2020, and all functions were presented to the commissioner of the project. The commissioner of the project appeared extremely pleased with the way that the end result turned out. The successful collaboration with the Dutch team was especially commended.
