Certifications
Certifications provide confirmation of conformity with specified standards and offer future users and the university’s stakeholders guidance and security in their choice of institution.
By undergoing certification with the ECTS & DS labels, Kufstein University of Applied Sciences visibly demonstrates its excellence in implementing and applying the principles of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulations System (ECTS). Certification as a “Family friendly university” confirms our intensive engagement with these issues. Last but not least, the SPIN quality seal assures graduates of this language program that they have been taught in compliance with international standards on language training.
Quality Audit
The Kufstein University of Applied Sciences passed its institutional assessment in 2010 and received accreditation for an unlimited period according to § 23 of the Act on Quality Assurance in Higher Education (HS-QSG). To that effect the Institution has to perform a Quality Audit according to § 22 HS-QSG which has to be carried out once every six years. The Kufstein University of Applied Sciences’ first Quality Audit was conducted by the agency evalag and successfully completed in 2016. The Quality Audit focuses on institutional quality management in relationship to single core and key areas of a higher education institution. In addition, the Quality Audit supports the university in further developing its internal quality management. The evalag audit is based on the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG), international auditing practice and the Act on Quality Assurance in Higher Education (HS-QSG) as amended. |
Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance
The Kufstein University of Applied Sciences disposes the „Standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG)“. The ESG are used by institutions and quality assurance agencies as a reference document for internal and external quality assurance systems in higher education. Engagement with quality assurance processes, particularly the external ones, allows European higher education systems to demonstrate quality and increase transparency, thus helping to build mutual trust and better recognition of their qualifications, programmes and other provision. | ||

Ö-Cert, the Austria-wide recognition of our quality measures, sets quality standards for organizations offering adult education and creates transparency for those interested in education and for sponsors. |
ECTS & Diploma Supplement Label
The ECTS label is a quality label that is awarded to universities by the European Commission. It represents an EU certification of excellence for universities in applying the principles of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). | ||
The European Commission awards universities from all over Europe a Diploma Supplement label for excellent implementation of the guidelines of the European Commission, the Council of Europe and UNESCO. The Diploma Supplement is a bilingual certification document with detailed explanatory notes in order to improve transparency about the content and documentation of university degrees and thereby increase international mobility. The certification labels remain valid for three years at a time. | ||
“University and family” audit
Better compatibility of work and family life is a key issue in modern societies. Particularly for students with caring responsibilities it is a constant challenge to meet the demands of a study program, sometimes in tandem with employment. In order to make everyday organization and life-planning easier for employees and students, Kufstein University of Applied Sciences dedicates itself intensively to the issue of what makes a family-friendly university. |
A second aspect in connection with this label was awareness-raising on “Health in the workplace”. On this subject Kufstein University of Applied Sciences organized a variety of activities around the theme of “Healthy eating” and organized training sessions on “Health and safety in the workplace”.
The Kufstein University of Applied Sciences received the certificate "family-friendly university" in 2012, since then the reauditation takes place every 3 years.
ERASMUS Charta 2021 – 2027 of the European Commission
The European Commission has awarded the FH Kufstein Tirol University of Applied Sciences with the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education within the framework of the new Erasmus+ 2021-2027 program. The Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) is the prerequisite for participation in the Erasmus+ program period 2021-2027 and represents the basic quality framework for the management of European and international cooperation activities of the FH Kufstein University of Applied Sciences within the program. Only higher education institutions that have a valid Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education are eligible to participate in the EU funding program. By awarding the Erasmus Charter, the FH Kufstein University of Applied Sciences commits itself to the principles and requirements anchored in the program as well as to their compliance. | ||
Language Center awarded with 2019 SPIN quality seal | ||
The Austrian Language Excellence Center (ÖSZ) awarded the Language Center of the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol with the SPIN quality seal for its innovative language and internationalization concept. A decisive attribute for the award is concept integration into full-time bachelor study degree programs. This integrated international focus allows linguistic and cultural diversity for teaching and learning experiences. The concept causes qualitative and quantitative improvements in the area of language teaching and learning and promotes interconnectedness and networking with other education programs within and outside of Europe. The ÖSZ feels that the language projects at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol have outstanding quality and feels that progressive actions have been taken for learning new languages. The University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol may now display the LanguageInnovationNetwork (SPIN) logo as a recognition of its quality-assured work. |
