Augmented and Virtual Reality - Insights from a Design Perspective

Anne Marleen Olthof from the Hogeschoole van Amsterdam was a guest lecturer in Kufstein and spoke about projects from her study program Virtual Reality.

She is a founding member of the interdisciplinary study program Virtual Reality at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam and lecturer for Immersive Design XR, meaning the full range of Mixed Reality with augmented and virtual reality. During a study trip of the study program Web Communication & Information Systems, students of the FH Kufstein Tirol, University of Applied Sciences, were introduced to Anne Marleen Olthof in Amsterdam. In return, Olthof now visited the FH Kufstein Tirol.

Kick-off at ICARACE in Munich

To kick off their visit, Anne Marleen Olthof and four students from the Hogeschool van Amsterdam met with Prof. (FH) Karsten Böhm and Ulrike Bruckenberger, MA from the FH Kufstein Tirol. They exchanged information at the ICARACE event of the company ICAROS in Munich.

Guest lecture on virtual reality

The WEBTA - Institute for Web Technologies & Applications of the FH Kufstein Tirol, University of Applied Sciences, organized the guest lecture by Anne Marleen Olthof on October 23, 2018 for students and interested parties from the business world.
In her lecture, she gave an overview of the program Virtual Reality at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam and showed the results from several projects, which her students developed and implemented in interdisciplinary teams. With her testimonials, she impressively illustrated how students can benefit from creative teaching concepts and how they can be put into practice.
The relations between the FH Kufstein Tirol and the Hogeschool van Amsterdam should be further intensified in the future.
