Bachelor²

Since 2014, the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences' degree program Industrial Engineering & Management has been cooperating with the German Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences' Electrical Engineering department. This cooperation allows the Kufstein Industrial Engineering & Management students to acquire an additional Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a focus on technical management by studying at Schmalkalden for two semesters.

Objective

This cooperation aims at Industrial Engineering & Management students from the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences to acquire a deeper knowledge of electrical engineering. Any knowledge and skills acquired at the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences are recognized and counted towards the second Bachelor’s degree from the Schmalkalden University.

Kufstein University of Applied Sciences students receive, after fulfilling all laid down requirements, the additional academic title Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) from the Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences. Subsequently, this Bachelor of Engineering degree grants students access to the Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences' Master's programs.

Admission to the BA Cooperation Program with the Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences

For the second degree program, Industrial Engineering & Management degree program students may hand in their cooperation program application to the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences once they have passed all courses of the first four semesters.

After handing in the application, students are invited to a selection procedure in which the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences nominates candidates suitable for the second degree. Nominated students can then apply at the Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences, which processes the registration and decides on the admission. All candidates are subject to the Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences' admission requirements and statutory regulations.

The registration at the Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences is only valid for courses laid out in the Learning Agreement which the Schmalkalden University is responsible for. Students are entitled to all mitigating access measures which are granted to participants of the Mobility Program.

For the second degree, students must spend two semesters studying at the Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences. The final Bachelor's thesis will be supervised by both institutions.
