Labdoo is a worldwide network of volunteers that enables children to have access to digital devices and technology. The platform is open to everyone worldwide and equips laptops or tablets that are no longer used with powerful educational software. Flight sponsors transport the IT donations to the sites in a CO2-neutral manner and collect them for repair or recycling. "With the prize money of €1,000, we can process around 150 devices that will benefit children all over the world," Leandra said happily at the award ceremony.
Michael Struber, BA
Michael Struber, a graduate of the Sports, Culture and Event Management degree program, received the Alumni Award 2021 at the virtual HomeComing event for the project “Netzwerk Taugl”. In his free time, the event manager is committed to his home community and founded an association for its development in 2018. The prize money of 1000 € is intended to be used to expand the network of hiking trails and to develop a set of rules for traditional card games in St. Koloman.
Theresa Dorfer, BA
Theresa Dorfer received the alumni award 2019 for her Sportunion regioMOTION club, which offers a diversified sports program for young & old to enable a health-conscious lifestyle that is also fun, especially for children. Many sports projects have already been implemented in the Murau region in Styria since the club was founded in November 2018.
René Moser, MA
René Moser as head of the Lake Achen location of the Austrian Red Cross Tirol District Office Schwaz is the winner of the alumni award 2018. In his function at the Red Cross, he coordinates over 30 persons and is also responsible for the strategic orientation of the office. Thus, Moser expanded the portfolio with numerous volunteer service areas, among these disaster relief, crisis intervention and much more. “We founded the Lake Achen Youth Group with our latest project.” Thus, we can now introduce children and youths to the work of the Red Cross and offer first-aid and emergency assistance courses,” explained Moser. I am very happy, and I feel honored to be the first laureate of the alumni award. The timing of this donation is ideal since we can now invest in new training equipment for the youth group. We are currently planning to acquire a defibrillator for training purposes,” said Moser.
