With its recent agreement with Hong Kong Metropolitan University, the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol has reached its goal of cooperating with at least 225 international partners two years ahead of time.

The University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol has worked tirelessly in recent years to expand its global network. Its latest cooperation agreement with Hong Kong Metropolitan University marks a significant milestone in this endeavor. HKM University is a prestigious university dedicated to the promotion of knowledge, innovation, and cultural exchange. With its outstanding faculty and state of the art facilities, the university provides an inspiring environment for students and faculty from around the world. “We had originally envisioned reaching our goal of 225 international partnerships only by 2025,” says Manuela Osterauer, Head of the International Relations Office (IRO) at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein.

Internationalization in action

The partnership with Hong Kong Metropolitan University will not only enrich students’ educational opportunities, but will also help to promote cultural and academic exchange between Europe and Asia. “This most recent cooperation enables students from both universities to engage in intercultural exchange, broaden their horizons, and gain valuable insights into the global economy and into international culture,” says Osterauer. Counselling on average 300 outgoing students and 200 incoming students each year, Manuela Osterauer and her team provide excellent support for students in every respect, enabling them to meet the binding educational requirements and high standards set for their semester abroad.

Participation in international education conferences

To further these goals, it is essential for the university to participate in international education conferences in order to maintain existing partnerships and to establish new ones. The University of Applied Sciences Kufstein is therefore regularly represented at education conferences such as the ones organized by the Association of International Educators (NAFSA), the European Association for International Education (EAIE), or the Asia Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE). These education conferences offer the staff of the International Relations Office the unique opportunity to meet the representatives of partner universities in a single place and to maintain personal contacts and optimize mutual cooperation with partners.
