I found the online classes to be very pleasant, especially at the beginning of the semester. The quality of the teaching hardly decreased at all, and the lecturers invested a lot of effort.
  • Why did you decide to study International Business Studies at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol?

The range of courses and the pleasant and small class size of the individual courses convinced me right from the start. I also found the integrated study abroad and professional internship extremely exciting.

  • You have already completed a bachelor's program at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol. Why did you decide to continue your studies here with the Master's program?

I particularly liked the bachelor's degree program at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol. This is why the decision to continue studying at Kufstein was very easy for me. I was also won over by the International Business Studies (IBS) Master's degree due to the courses offered, the specialization in the field of marketing, and the fact that the instruction takes place 100% in English. After completing my bachelor's degree in Business Management, it was clear to me that I wanted to do an English-language master's degree – hence, the IBS came in very handy.

  • How do you feel about online classes? Are there or were there any disadvantages compared to face-to-face courses?

At the beginning of the semester, I found the online teaching and learning to be very pleasant, as I was able to save a lot of fuel costs and time because I did not have to commute and was still able to take part in the courses. The quality of the teaching is hardly affected at all, and the lecturers invest a lot of effort. Nevertheless, I would like to be able to attend more face-to-face courses again soon.

  • How did you feel about the semester abroad? Did you have any restrictions due to the current situation (corona pandemic)?

I was able to spend the 2019 winter semester from August to December at Stetson University in Florida. The semester abroad was a unique experience from which I was able to take a lot with me. In addition to exciting subjects, the campus offered many leisure and sports activities in which every student could take part. The study abroad was facilitated by both the FH Kufstein Tirol and Stetson University. After the selection process and the final assignment for the semester abroad, I contacted my advisor at the university in Florida, who helped me with the visa application, apartment selection, etc. In fact, I was very lucky as Stetson University has 24/7 mentoring for its students abroad. We were even picked up from the airport and then had a week-long orientation week with volunteer students from Stetson University.

  • Would you recommend studying at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol, and if so, why?

I would recommend studying at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol to anyone who would like to study at a familiar, application-oriented, and recognized university of applied sciences with very good teaching. The semester abroad and mandatory internship open up many opportunities for students for their professional future and offer valuable impulses for personal development. Of course, the Kufstein location is particularly attractive with its many leisure activities and proximity to the mountains. The good connection to cities like Munich also made it possible for me to commute from where I live. In addition, the lectures are planned well and scheduled consecutively without a long break between classes. This means there are no long waiting times in between classes, which would be uncomfortable for commuters.
